This week - maybe today (!) - my first design for ZARA is going to be launched in the stores and holy moly it's in the SHOP WINDOW!! Ok so I already wrote this in the last post but I'm so excited I will write it again. You can find my crop top in your nearest store and oh lordie you can check it out online too because the internet is a magical thing!!!
In other news, the weather here has been non-stop bipolar since the day I got here. We finally said goodbye to summer in November and then upon my return after the new year, it got so cold. But now we've had almost a couple of weeks of winter and then this weekend was all mini-skirts-and-bare-legs and highs of 20 DEGREES ! It's crazy and amazing because the cold is not so fun except that it is January and there is snow in England and a storm over in the States right now. I enjoyed the sun but isn't it worrying how abnormal this is? People who have been here for a while told me that we were so lucky because it's never been like this before but part of me is just thinking that this planet is dying and that there is no luck in climate change. And then the other part of me is all thank-god-for-the-warmer-weather-because-I-can't-cope-with-any-more-rain which makes me feel all confused about everything and so does this make me a bad person?
On Friday after work, Jess and I went to a classical music concert at the Opera House. It was AMAAAZING and beautiful and so relaxing and officially solidified my status as an old woman. The Galician Symphony Orchestra (Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia) played Bach and Mozart and pieces that I didn't know (ok so I don't really know any pieces) and it was just one of the loveliest Friday nights. Only at the end when we all spilled out of the building did I notice all the older ladies glammed up in fur coats and kitten heels and as we walked home, I realised the irony of it all. Because of course, we are in Spain and unlike the granny in me, for the rest of the audience, the night had just begun.
